Has this question ever crossed your mind? and do you know the answer? Maybe some of you even try to calculate it yourself, hehe. About this how many times the average human blinks his eyes per minute, per hour, even per day, many have discussed it. Like the screenshot on the Google homepage below.
Is it true that the calculations in the articles that have discussed this matter? Let's find the answer ourselves by calculating together more carefully.
Try to prepare 5 sheets of white HVS paper and one pen that is still working, make sure the pen is not jammed.
After that, you play videos on Youtube or open news or articles on the internet, make sure it is your favorite video or content so you forget that you are doing an experiment counting your own blinks. If not while doing this then your brain will be aware and instead control your eye blinking.
Ok, lets go! Let's start our experiment!
While watching or reading, every time it blinks, tap your pen on the white HVS paper that was prepared earlier. Don't count and you don't have to limit how many minutes we watch. All you have to do is record the time the experiment started.
After you have finished reading or watching the first experimental video, it is considered complete. Try to watch videos that are not too long in duration, that's about 3 minutes. If you choose to read articles or news, just read one title.
After that, you repeat the experiment again, there are still 4 sheets of HVS paper left, right?
So, when you're finished, you can count how many dots on the HVS paper the result of your tapping from your ballpoint pen was. After that, you divide the number of points into the length of time you watched the video or read the article. For example, in 3 minutes and 5 seconds when you watch a video, it blinks 50 times, that means that on average per minute you blink 15-18 times.
Eits, but that's not a conclusion yet, try checking 4 other HVS sheets, if you find that you get almost the same counts and the difference is not much, then you can say your experiment was successful. But if you want even more accurate research then try the same experiment 5 more times on different days.
Now back to the question according to the title!
The frequency of our blinks is certainly not the same, sometimes it only blinks once for a few seconds, and sometimes it can blink three times in one second. But it doesn't matter because we will calculate the average number. For example, on average we blink 14 times per minute, that means we blink 840 times per hour, 13,440 times a day and night, assuming we sleep 8 hours, in eight hours of sleep, of course the human eye doesn't blink.
